The Internet allows for this type of vulgarity to circulate. It’s unfortunate that we have someone who obviously has some issues. But he has an opportunity to speak. » He stated to The Daily Caller in an April 28, 2011 interview, « I don’t see it as a problem at all. » He hoped the issue would « take care of itself over time », with increased media coverage of his political campaign as a candidate in the 2012 United States presidential election, adding, « And if it maintains, it will just show a rather disgusting side of politics, unfortunately. » The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette queried the former Senator about the issue in a May 12, 2011 interview, and Santorum responded, « It’s a free country and people can do and say what they want to say. »
